Washer and Dryer Repair
Washers that will not drain or spin, and dryers that will not heat or start.

A standalone freezer that stops freezing can put a lot of food at risk. Call to get connected with an independent provider who repairs chest and upright freezers.
For homeowners with a broken washer, dryer, oven, stove, cooktop or freezer. Not for refrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves, commercial appliances, parts orders or phone-only quotes.
Common problems
Standalone chest and upright freezers are common in Alabama garages, utility rooms and outbuildings, often loaded with meat, vegetables and game. Garage heat in summer makes a freezer work harder, and that is when weak parts tend to fail.

The visit
A general outline only. The independent provider decides what the visit includes and explains any findings.
Confirms the outlet, the cord and the thermostat or control setting.
Checks whether the compressor starts and runs, and looks for signs of a refrigerant leak.
On frost-free uprights, tests the evaporator fan, defrost heater, timer or control and thermostat.
Inspects gaskets and hinges, since a poor seal lets in warm, humid air and builds frost.
Plain guidance
Start relays, thermostats, defrost parts, evaporator fans and door gaskets are common freezer repairs. They are usually worth doing on a freezer that otherwise runs well.
A failed compressor or a refrigerant leak in the sealed system often leads to a replacement conversation, especially on an older unit. NAHB figures cited by Fannie Mae put a standard freezer's typical life at around 16 years.
Service areas
Freezer repair pages for the four markets, plus the regional areas and city pages.
A full freezer generally holds its temperature for about 48 hours and a half-full one for about 24 hours if the door stays closed, according to USDA food safety guidance. Keep it shut and call as soon as you notice a problem.
Many freezers are designed for indoor temperatures. A very hot garage makes the compressor run longer and can expose weak parts. Check that the unit has space around it for airflow.
Most manual-defrost chest freezers need defrosting when frost builds up to about a quarter inch. Heavy frost soon after defrosting can point to a lid seal problem.
Your city, whether it is a chest or upright freezer, whether it is in a garage or indoors, what the temperature or food feels like and whether the compressor is running.
